طاجين الكفتة Kefta Tajine

Kefta TajineKefta with eggs is a traditional and delicious Moroccan recipe. You can prepare it with eggs or without it. This dish is also called: Moroccan meatballs tajine, Kufta, Kafta. The recipe is very easy to make and should not take a long time to prepare. Simply follow these steps


We will prepare the meatballs and the sauce for the meatballs separately. Then we will mix them together at the end.

Meatballs Ingredients:

  • 1 kg ground beef
  • ½ chopped onions
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 bouquet of parsley and cilantro
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • ½ teaspoon of cumin
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon of red pepper
  • ½ teaspoon of ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon powder

Ingredients for the meatball sauce

  • 1 and ½ kg tomatoes (diced)
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • ½ cup of olive oil
  • ¼ teaspoon of cumin
  • ½ teaspoon of red pepper
  • ½ teaspoon of salt



Preparation


  1. On a plate, place the ground beef and add all the spices above (dedicated to the meatball only), mix everything very well then form small balls.
  2. On a cooking pot, put diced tomatoes, olive oil and all the spices above (dedicated to the meatball sauce) on medium heat.
  3. After 7 minutes, add the meatballs (kefta) and let cook until done (or 15 minutes later).
  4. Finally add eggs, chopped coriander and parsley, and let cook for an extra 5 min.
