But many people cook it during regular days because it's delicious and is not considered a heavy meal. This dish is also called: hareera or shorba. The recipe is very easy to make and should not take a long time to prepare. Simply follow these steps



Ingedients

  • ½ kg of tomatoes
  • 100 grams of boneless beef
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 1 cup of rice (or vermicelli)
  • 1 big onion
  • 1 cup of soaked chickpeas
  • 1 cup of soaked fava beans
  • 1 small can of tomato paste
  • 1 bouquet of chopped parsley and cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon of saffron
  • ½ teaspoon of cinnamon

Preparation


  1. Put onions, chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, and meat in a cooking pot
  2. Add oil, chickpeas, fava beans, all the spices and 2 liters of water
  3. Leave on a medium heat for 30 min
  4. Add rice (or vermicelli) and leave for an extra 10 minutes while stirring continuously
