Rfissa is a popular and delicious Moroccan dish. It is served during
celebrations and festivities especially when there is a birth in the
family. But many people prepare it during regular days as well. The
recipe is made of two parts. The first part is about making Melwi
(follow the link if you want to make melwi first). Then you also need
to make the sauce, which is made in this page. This recipe is also
called Marchouch or Marchooch. The recipe is very easy to make and
should not take a long time to prepare. Simply follow these steps
Ingedients
- Melwi (click)
- ½ kg of chicken
- 3 onions
- 1 cup of lentils
- ½ teaspoon of saffron
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper

- 1 teaspoon of ginger
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of coriander
- 1 teaspoon of fenugreek
- 1 cup of oil

Preparation
- Add all the ingredients above (except melwi) into a cooking pot and mix
- Leave for 40 minutes or until the chicken is well cooked
- Start shredding melwi into small pieces and place them on a plate
- Add the sauce on top of it and serve
